You are so awesome!
I can't believe December AND 2016 is almost over! I hope everything is not too hectic and that you've been able to enjoy all the wonderful things about this season. I'm forging ahead and making some thank you cards with the ODBD December release for the "Let's Get Sentimental" Shining the Light Challenge. It was a very quick card using scraps from the Blushing Rose Paper collection and some twine.
I do hope you'll find some time to make a little mess and play along with this month's "Let's Be Sentimental" Shining the Light Challenge by Our Daily Bread Designs. And if you'd like more inspiration, please check out by my talented Challenge Team sisters Chris, Julie, and Robin. Remember that you have until December 30th to link to the ODBD blog.

Merry and Bright
It's almost Christmas! I couldn't resist making one more Christmas card even though it will have to be popped in the mail very soon to make it anywhere in time. I always try to look to the sentiment for inspiration - hence the glitter and Shimmer Sheetz. I love how bright and sparkly it is in real life!
For my background, I actually covered it with silver glitter washi tape. It's the shiniest silver glitter I have in my stash and perfect peeking through the polka dot background die from My Favorite Things. I then layered the Merry and Bright sentiment from Quietfire Design's Bright Holiday Words set, stamped in black pigment ink, clear embossed, and then matted in with a fine green layer.
The small poinsettias by Elizabeth Craft Designs were cut from bright red Shimmer Sheetz with rhinestone centers. And of course it's a cloudy day and I can't photograph the "bright" properly. :)
Thank you for looking and may your Christmas be merry and bright!

Christmas gifts
I knew I wanted to paper piece this Gift border die as soon as I saw it but it came a whole lot easier once I realized that I could hide the bottom of the cards with the craft card stock. I was trying to cut it just right until I realized I didn't have to! I then used my Copics to color the Merry Christmas die to make the ombre colors. The inside has the other half of the die (that says Happy New Year) inside out of gold card stock.

We then used the same layout and made a shaker with the Memory Box Tall Evergreen Circle.
Later I thought it would also be great to add some snow to the tree and make it a winter card! See my thought process there? Lol!

Merry Christmas two ways
Quick post on me using the Christmas border die from ODBD as a background die. I just did one with red card stock instead. I like the frame but I don't like it that I couldn't have the whole word Merry in red. Maybe better placement of die cuts?
Which do you prefer?

You are awesome quilt
Hello, there! I hope your December is going smoothly, not too hectic, and full of joy for this wonderful season. It's a little harder to find time in the craft room but not much time at all to make a total mess of the room! This card is pretty simple looking but took lots of die cuts to get all the colors. HOWEVER, in hindsight, you can use Copic markers to color your die cuts - that would have been much faster. Lol!
I put the Star Quilt Die askew for more interest since it's so bold and added a sentiment from the new Pennant Flag Verses and matted it with the Double Stitched Pennant Flag Dies and Pennant Flag Dies.

ODBD December Release
Hello! Welcome to the December release for Our Daily Bread Designs! This month I'm focusing on the pennants though I highly encourage you to check out my sister breadsticks to see what they are doing with the other fabulous stamps in this release.
I kept my card pretty simple by using some of the designer paper by ODBD. Sometimes it's just too hard to cover up some of those pretty paper. With the pennant stamps and dies this month, you can have both a beautiful background and sentiment. I used the Pennant Flag Verses with the Pennant Flag dies and Double Stitched Pennant Flag dies. The papers are from the By the Shore Paper Collection and the Shabby Rose Paper Collection.
Prize Information:
Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 Gift Code to the ODBD Website just for commenting on the Design Team cards! Quietfire Design If Kisses Were Snowflakes Shaker Card
No snow yet - just rain! But for those of you who get enough snow as is, you can restrain your blizzard within a shaker card with these new stamps from Quietfire Design. I had so much fun with these stamps using one of my favorite techniques - resist embossing. I first clear embossed the snowflakes from the Let It Snow Flourished Snowflakes stamp set and sponged in different shades of distress inks (Mermaid Lagoon, Chipped Sapphire, and Blueprint Sketch.) I did the same with the If Kisses Were Snowflakes stamp and die cut out the sentiment with an oval die. I used a slightly larger oval die on the snowflake sheet to create a window for my shaker card.
Using acetate and foam tape, I made my shaker cards with some shaped glitter and white beads.
Thank you so much for looking!
