Welcome to ODBD's first challenge this month - it's a color challenge! Perfect excuse to break out my watercolor pencils again. I've been wanting to color these foxgloves from the Bloom set for a while - I love how majestic and tall they are! The seeds are so tiny and yet this huge plant springs up - how pleasantly surprised I was with my first blooms. And it was also then I realized that I really need to plant them behind other plants instead of in front! :)
I paired these fussy cut and watercolored blooms with my favorite verse - how I held onto this verse during my college years! It's from the set For the Graduate but I think it is definitely a verse for the years before and after also. I framed it using the new Layered Lacey Square Dies on top of a sheet from the Shabby
Rose Collection. As you can see, my frame is not square but the loops on the dies are identical so I trimmed it down and overlapped the loops. I hid the seam line by adding a couple of layers that included the verse from Jeremiah. I glued my foxglove and brushed it with my Wink of Stella brush pen for a subtle shine.
And please check out my other CT sisters for more wonderful inspiration:
