You make the world go round

I love this week's Casology cue word:  HOT!  Because it is very cold and windy right now!  However, this card did not want to be made.  Good thing I have a stubborn streak.  :)  The hot air balloon from Echo Park was die-cut out of watercolor paper that had I had color washed and covered with crinkled cling wrap.  I love the texture that it leaves behind.  I used MFT Blueprints 15's largest stitched rectangle and popped it up with fun foam to make my cloud shaker elements.  Hope you like it!

HYCCT cards

Hi!  I wanted to share a couple of more cards I made for the Hope You Can Cling To card drive at Splitcoaststampers.  These cards are being sent to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas so that the patients and their families can use them.  I remember when I was younger that cancer was such a far off disease - and now the number of people I know who has or had it is just overwhelming. So this is just a very little something I can do to make someone else's day a wee bit brighter.

You make the world go round

Happy Monday morning!  I feel like I've been neglecting my craft room dreadfully this summer so I was pleased when this card came together very easily.  I picked up this stamp and die set from Echo Park at the Scrapbook Expo... so cute!  With the color combination from the Cutting Edge Challenge and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch, the card practically made itself.  I die cut the hot air balloon in black and cherry cobbler cardstock.  Using only the balloon and flag portion of the cherry cobbler cardstock, I paper pieced my balloon and popped that up in front of a  couple of clouds from the same set.  A heart cut from the same kraft paper completed the card front.

I wanted to keep the front simple so I added the sentiment to the inside. Instead of trying to piece the chevron arrows just right, I die cut the chevron arrows on white cardstock and used the negative with black cardstock lined underneath.  I added another heart to the corner of the sentiment.
