Another round of the LOVE cards

Hello, here are some more cards I made with the same die set from this month's Spellbinders small die set.  I made this rainbow background and die cut the LOVE out of it.  The little dog from Mama Elephant's Playful Pup stamp set.

I used the LOVE die cuts and put it onto my second card:

My last card I made into a yellow and green baby card - great colors to have in case you don't know if you need a baby boy or baby girl card.  The "Baby" is a die available at Quietfire Design and Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Welcome, Little One

Hi!  It's been a while since I made a baby card but I had a chance to color these Stackable Cuties by Mama Elephant while on vacation.  I thought they went perfectly with a baby themed card so I came up with this:

The card base is 5" x 7" so I made a panel 4.5" x 6.5" with white card stock.  I sponged some clouds on it with Distress Inks and glued the animals like they were sitting on the clouds.  The Welcome die cut was stacked on 3 times out of the same blue as the thin mat.  I stamped the "Little One" from the Welcome Little Ones clear stamp collection.

If you have a ton of cute little critters stamp image like I do, you can easily make this card your own but using any of those critters.  The Welcome can be blue or pink or a neutral color to suit your recipient.

Here's a close up of that beautiful lettering:

Tulips Tulips Tulips - I love them.

My crafty friend brought over the Mama Elephant Timeless Tulips and we decided to stray from our diecutting (so safe and forgiving) to watercoloring (going adventurous).  We stamped and clear embossed on watercolor paper many times in a couple of different positions.  We also stamped with light brown water based ink for no line coloring later.  All the watercoloring was done with Zig Clean brush markers.

I do love my tulips and all the colors they come in!  Hope you enjoy this set of cards.

Blank with a bit of spattering.

No line coloring with Altenew Thanks die.

Combined with Love Nicole dies for the lower case alphabets and Quietfire Design/Elizabeth Craft Designs Sweet die.

A purple Quietfire Design/Elizabeth Craft Designs Always die (this one actually has a stamped sentiment inside saying that I will be here for you always).

This one actually uses a stamp from the set itself!  Lol!

A teal Quietfire Design/Elizabeth Craft Designs Prayers die

Another no line watercoloring - got brave and attempted those vivid red and yellow tulips and Love Nicole lower case alphabet dies.  (These dies were purchased at ACMoore and no matter how hard I look, they have no name to die sets.)

Sending Smiles

I made a card combining the cute critters from Mama Elephant Up and Away and Lawn Fawn Into the Woods for this card.  The lines are of similar thickness and the eyes are the same so the two sets worked perfectly together!

Monster jamming

Today's set of cards is another happy result of sitting in the car coloring while waiting for my son.  I was able to crank out these cards so easily with all my images already colored.  I used Distress Inks and Oxides for my backgrounds, word dies are from Quietfire Design and also available from Elizabeth Craft Designs, and the cute little stamped images are Mama Elephant's Monster Jam.

Mama Elephant and Vellum

Morning!  Thanks to a slight change in schedule and location, I now have 30 minutes each Tuesday to sit in the car and wait for my son.  Not enough time to drive home and back so I've taken to grabbing my container of Copics and stamped images to sit in the car and color.  I am actually loving this time to relax.

So this Mama Elephant set - SO CUTE - is one that I colored while waiting.  I sponged a very blue cloudy background - a little too heavy handed there so I added a framed vellum piece to soften it.  The frame was cut four times and the thicker the frame, the softer the effect - also a great way to adhere vellum and not see the adhesive.

Simple and cute - perfect for the Simon Says Cute Challenge this week!

Hugs

Just popping in to share a quick card I made with a Mama Elephant set I picked up from Joann's craft store.  Their stamps are just so cute and adorable - I thought this one was just sweet.

The Hugs die is available at Quietfire Design and Elizabeth Craft Designs.

CAS Cards with the new Soar Collection

Hello!  Recently I was asked to make some cards with a back to school theme.  One can only do so many apple-themed cards and then I remembered the new Soar Collection.  Every single quote was perfect for reminding each child or young adult how special and capable they are.

This modern lettering just went perfectly with a cute and fun stamp set from Mama Elephant Up up and Away.  I simple masked a blue area and popped up the bunny.

This moon card could not be simpler to make.  I punched out (yes, I still have punches because they are so easy and quick) and used different shades of gray Copics to give my moon some craters.  Splatter some gold and silver Finetec mica paint and instant stars.  The quote was embossed in white.  So simple, quick, yet striking.

I liked the moon card so much I made another and added just a touch of Distress Oxide Inks to the black card stock. It was a lot faster than creating a galaxy background from scratch but I think it works!  What do you think of it?  Adding the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders made it easy to add the stamped sentiment to the bottom.

Since I was on such a roll with this set, I went ahead and made another card with the remaining sentiment/quote.  I LOVE butterflies so I knew anything that mentioned wings would be an opportunity for me to add butterflies. The Memory Box Fairyland Butterflies die cut out of watercolor paper and colored with inks paired up perfectly with the Rumi quote.  I also added a layer of shimmer on the butterfly with some Wink of Stella glitter.

You can tell I really love this Soar Collection stamp set!  I think you will too!

Playing playing playing

Hello, there!  I've been quite busy since school started but I did get some play time in here and there.  This is a different kind of post - just going to share some cards I made with a friend.  It's great - she brings over new-to-me stamps and dies and we combine it with my toys.  Unfortunately we get so buys playing that I don't write down what we used.  But I'll let you know the ones I do know.  :)

Stamps and Dies used:

Our Daily Bread Designs Merry Christmas Border
Our Daily Bread Designs Happy Birthday
Memory Box Holiday Bunnies
Mama Elephant Playful Puppies

Have a great week!

Coffee please

Happy Monday morning!  Who else needs to start with a nice big cup of coffee in the morning?  This little guy probably doesn't need a cup that big but I sometimes wake up thinking I need one super sized - right after thinking "When can I crawl back into bed?"

I used Mama Elephant's Up and Away.  Instead of hanging onto balloons, this bunny is holding up something much more practical - a coffee cup take out by Impression Obsession!  Perfect for this week's CASology COFFEE challenge.

Hang in There

Hello!  I'm guest designing for CASology this week and their cue word is CUTE.  I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but I just love everyone's take on a single word.  Sometimes it's straightforward and sometimes people have the most creative takes on them.  For me, it's straightforward this week.  Cute means little critters (and babies) for me.

I used this critter was Mama Elephant's Up and Away set and had it hanging from a string of twine against a sponged cloudy background.  I kept the center of the card open and blank for an easy CAS design/layout.

I hope you can play along this week over at CASology!

Koala smiles

I made another card with the Reverse Confetti Koala Bear set.  I just love how cute they are.  It was a very quick card with some sponging of blue skies and die cuts from Elizabeth Craft Designs Rainbow set (clouds and sun).
