I've been making a LOT of gable boxes lately (I'll show my big project tomorrow) and they are so easy to make that it gets kind of addictive. You start with one, then think of a modification, maybe change the color and before you know it, you have more boxes than you know what to do with all of them.
For example, I started with this penguin on a gable box cut from patterned paper.
But then I thought I should make my own background so I masked off the top of the gable box before I creased the lines and glue the bottom to make this snowy background. A little gel pen, another word die from Quietfire Design....
I really like that gold Joy. What if I just cut the whole box out of the gold paper? Nice! I love the color gold at Christmas and I think white poinsettias are so elegant so I came up with this next one:
But what's Christmas without that pop of red? So this is red on white which I think would look really great on the mantle against some green garland.
If it weren't for cooking, cleaning, and caring for the family in general, I would probably go on but which of the four boxes from today is your favorite?
All dies are available from both Quietfire Design and Elizabeth Craft Designs:

QF Flourished Christmas minis
