ODBDSLC224: Surging Sea

It seems like most of my masculine cards have a distinct nautical feel to them.  So I'm open to suggestions!  :)  This week's Shining the Light Challenge is Anything Goes!  Super easy, right?  Hope you can join the fun!

For my card, I started with the Faithful Fish Pattern Die.  The outer circles are supposed to be debossed but I ran it through a couple of times and then sanded the bits that didn't cut away.  I then weaved my twine through the hole and yay - there's just the right number of holes.  Tip:  To thread through the holes, I taped the end of the twine with regular tape and then snipped of the excess tape to "harden" the twine... think of the end of a shoelace where they wrap it so you can thread it through the holes.  That made it much easier and still small enough to not ruin your die cut or twine.  I then  popped it up on top of some tan card stock and my base is a brown card stock.  The image and verse are from ODBD Surging Sea and colored with Copics and sponged with distress ink Tea Dye.  I added the anchor using a rolled up glue dot instead of letting it hang.  The twine is weaving through two pieces of foam behind the ship layer so that it would stay curved for a sense of movement.  Hope you like it and thank you so much for looking!
