Welcome to Verve's Holiday Release Retrospective Blog Hop! The Verve Divas and special guests are hopping today and serving up some more inspiration using our Holiday Release stamps & dies! Besides a look-see at some really lovely cards, there's also a comment prize up for grabs!
If you've come from the talented Amber's blog, you're in the right place. If you just happened upon the hop, you can check the hop list below to get caught up.
For my card today, I made a tag with my favorite image from the release: the manger from the Weary World set. I started by embossing the image in black and then watercoloring - so easy to stay in the lines because of the raised embossing. I used the matching Starry Stable die to cut it out and popped it up on a tag I had embossed some white stars and sponged with distress ink Salty Ocean.
Finally I did stitched around my base layer and added some sequins.
Recipe:
Stamps: Weary World and Holiday Greetings
Paper: Neenah White and black (Recollection)
Ink: black (Versafine) and watermark (Versamark)
Accessories: Corner rounder (Fiskars), Starry Stable Die (Verve A Cut Above), black embossing powder, Silver floss (DMC), Shine Bright sequins (Verve)
My second card for this hop uses Psalm 119:105 Plain Jane. I used the largest banner die to cut it out. I added a doily and a cross from the Weary World for some embellishments. Hope you like the cards! Next on the blog is Charmaine!
