There has been more days off for the kids so far than days in school. I'm not going to come right out and say how I feel about that. Just remember, we just had our Christmas break too. And in a totally unrelated blog post, my card is sharing this verse: The joy of the Lord is your strength. :)
When I use my more intricate dies, I like to layer a sheet of wax paper between the die and the paper. It makes the removal of the paper so much easier - no tearing of the delicate areas. When I did it with the ODBD
Doily Die and a sheet from ODBD Blushing Rose Paper Collection, I just loved how it softened up the colors of the paper. I thought it went perfectly with this week's Inspiration photo. From there, I built my card. I added another doily, cut both out of my soft green damask paper, also from the same Blushing Rose Paper Collection. I then did a partial in-laid die-cutting method (I didn't add all the negative pieces from the doilies back in). I really liked the effect and hope you do too! I layered up the larger doily and added a button and pearls. Tip: Cut a strip of your background paper to "thread" your button for a perfect match. The verse from Scripture Collection 6 was then stamped with Old Olive Ink.
